The variety originates from north-western Switzerland. Large fruits are distinguished by a dark brown-black color with a matte sheen. The flesh is characterized by medium density, juiciness, and a sweet-and-sour and spicy taste.

The fruits possess high resistance to cracking; the stone separates well from the flesh. The variety is versatile in use: suitable for fresh consumption, canning, juice production, and the preparation of distillates. The fruit ripening period falls between June and July.
