The Ziklova variety, also known as Těchlovická, is a chance seedling. The fruits of the variety are large, spherical in shape, and dark red in color with distinct light dots on the skin.

The flesh is dark red, firm, and has a sweet-and-sour taste with spicy notes. The juice has intense staining properties. The variety is versatile, suitable for fresh consumption and for making compotes.

In scientific literature, the variety is studied as an object of genetic diversity for which the genotype at self-incompatibility loci has been determined.
