The variety Prunedda is an old local form of cherry plum originating from the Italian region of Puglia. It is an ethnobotanical object, not a modern breeding cultivar intended for commercial horticulture.

The fruits have a spheroidal symmetrical shape and a very low weight of 15–20 g. The skin is smooth, covered with a waxy bloom, and colored green-yellow with a red diffuse blush over most of the surface. The flesh is yellow, the taste is tart, and the stone is very small.

Historically, the fruits of this variety were used more for homemade preserves, drying, and canning than for fresh consumption. The trees are distinguished by a strong root system, due to which the variety was often used as rootstock for other crops, including blackthorn and almond.
