The variety is a variation of the "prune" group, characterized by dark blue fruits and flesh that easily separates from the pit. Traditionally, the fruits are used fresh, for drying, and for the production of distillates.
The plant is extremely susceptible to the Plum pox virus, which is the main problem in its cultivation. Specific breeding characteristics unique to this regional name are absent, as the variety fully corresponds to the "Domača češplja" type.
