Bühler Frühzwetsche Meier is an officially recognized clonal selection type of the historical variety group «Bühler Frühzwetsche». The tree is characterized as compact or bush-like, reaching a height of 4–6 meters and requiring proper crown formation.
The fruits have a blue-violet color, medium size and sweet-sour taste, the stone separates well from the pulp. Fruit ripening occurs from late July to mid-August. The variety is distinguished by regular high yields and resistance to Plum pox virus.
The fruits of the variety are versatile in use: they are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for culinary processing, including baking, preparation of jams, preserves and liqueurs.
