The variety is a clone in the Bühler Frühzwetsche group obtained through the selection of successful local trees rather than targeted breeding. The plant reaches a height of up to 6 meters and forms a broad, bushy crown.
The fruits are oval-shaped, blue in color, with juicy flesh and a free-stone pit. The taste is sweet and aromatic, although it depends on growing conditions. The Ringwald type ripens in the fourth week of the base variety's harvest season. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
The parent variety Bühler Frühzwetsche is characterized by resistance, in particular, the absence of symptoms of Plum pox virus is noted.
