The variety is early-maturing; under California conditions, ripening occurs from June 15 to 20, which is 5 days later than the Shiro variety. The plant forms a vigorous, upright tree. Low yield is noted, caused by the sterility of the majority of flowers due to pistil underdevelopment. The variety is self-incompatible; for pollination, the Friar and T. C. Sun varieties are recommended.
The fruits have an oblate-round shape and an average weight of 60–80 g. The skin is firm, dark purple in color, becoming black upon reaching full maturity. The flesh is yellow, firm, and partially freestone. The variety is characterized by exceptional storage and transport indicators.
