The variety produces heavy yields of blue-black fruits typical of the damson group. The fruits are characterized by a bloom on the skin and possess a sharp or sour taste when consumed fresh.
The plant is self-fertile, which allows for harvesting without planting pollinator varieties. The variety is primarily used for home processing, in particular for making jams, jellies, and wine, due to its high pectin content.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
