The Katinka variety is very early, with fruits ripening in late July. They have an oval shape reminiscent of a prune, a weight of 35–40 grams, and dark blue skin with a characteristic waxy bloom.
The fruit flesh is orange-yellow in color, firm, has a sweet taste and a distinct aroma, and the stone separates easily. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption as well as for culinary processing.
The tree is characterized by regular high yields and good winter hardiness. The variety possesses resistance to diseases and is suitable for organic cultivation.
