The variety is a selected clone from a group of related folk varieties that historically grew in the floodplain regions of Northeastern Hungary. The trees are characterized by vigorous growth and high, regular yields. In modern studies, the variety is used as valuable genetic material for studying disease resistance and genetic structure.
The fruits are small in size, round-oval in shape, with dark blue skin covered in a waxy bloom and juicy light-yellow flesh with a high sugar content. The variety is characterized by field resistance to plum pox virus, as well as increased adaptability to drought and frost.
The fruits are for universal use, although historically the variety is most in demand for drying, the production of plum jam without added sugar, and the manufacture of distillates.
