The variety is a vigorously growing tree about 5 meters tall with an upright to spreading crown. The fruits are reddish-purple or dark violet in color with a characteristic bloom. The flesh of the fruit is yellow, firm, moderately sweet, and not very juicy.

The variety is self-fertile and valued for its high yield and hardiness. The fruits are of the culinary type and are widely used in cooking: for making jams, preserves, canning, baking, and stewing. The ripening period occurs from mid to late August.
