The Polli munaploom tree is of medium size with a spherical crown. The fruits are characterized by a large size, oval shape, and pink-red skin. The fruit flesh is whitish-yellow, soft, fibrous, and juicy; the stone separates easily.
The variety is mid-season, with fruit ripening occurring in early September. The taste of the fruits is sweet and sour. The tree is winter-hardy and has good resistance to diseases, but is considered low-yielding. The variety is self-sterile; for pollination, the varieties Märjamaa and Kihelkonna are recommended.
The main purpose of the fruits is fresh consumption as a dessert plum. The variety is also of value for the preservation of the genetic pool of fruit crops.
