The tree is of medium vigor, reaching a height of 5–7 meters, forming a moderately dense pyramidal or wide-pyramidal crown. The fruits are small or medium with a weight of 17–25 g, have an oval or elongated shape, a dark-blue color and a distinct waxy bloom. The yellow-green flesh is firm and juicy, possesses a sweet-sour taste and a strong aroma, and the stone separates easily.

The variety is self-fertile and enters fruiting in the 4–5th year after planting. The trees have good bearing capacity, but are sensitive to trunk sunscald. The variety is extremely susceptible to Plum pox virus, and is also prone to infestation by red leaf spot, rust and scale insects, while being relatively resistant to Monilinia.

The fruits are for universal use, widely used for drying, preparation of jams, compotes and are benchmark raw material for the production of plum brandy (rakija). In commercial fruit growing, the variety is gradually being replaced by more resistant hybrids.
