The Mandorla del Diavolo variety is a local Italian historical cultivar that formed within regional diversity. It is not a modern breeding variety but a traditional one, often classified as an heirloom variety.
The fruits of this variety are characterized by their large size, exceeding common varieties by at least two times. The shell is semi-hard, and the kernel is sweet and delicate in taste. The harvest ripens in August–September, and the variety is also characterized as early-maturing and suitable for fresh consumption with high productivity.
The variety is primarily used in culinary applications, particularly for the preparation of desserts. Information regarding exact tree height and specific disease resistance is absent, as the variety has not undergone a modern breeding process to produce a detailed characteristics passport.
