ActivePrunus persica (L.) Batsch · Peach
Stat Exp South Haven (US)
10 August 2026
The variety is a descendant of the J.H. Hale variety and possesses morphological characteristics similar to it. The tree reaches a height of 3–4 meters; fruit ripening occurs approximately one week before the J.H. Hale and Elberta varieties. The variety is self-fertile and requires about 700 hours of winter chilling, suitable for USDA hardiness zones 6–9.
The fruits are large, comparable in size to a softball. The skin is yellow with a bright red blush, the flesh is golden-yellow, firm and juicy, and the pit separates easily from the flesh. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, canning, freezing, and baking.
The plant is considered reliable in fruit bearing, but is susceptible to leaf curl, which requires preventive treatments.
