Red Haven
ActivePrunus persica (L.) Batsch · Peach
Stat Exp South Haven (US)
10 August 2026
The variety is the result of crossing the J.H. Hale and South Haven varieties. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, although there are dwarf forms 2.5–3 meters in height. The plant is adapted to a temperate climate and belongs to hardiness zone 5, while showing sensitivity to late spring frosts.
The fruits are large in size, round in shape, with golden-orange skin and a red blush. The flesh is yellow, firm and juicy, and the pit separates well from the flesh. Due to the firm skin, the fruits are resistant to damage during transport and are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, and canning.
