Variety description

10 August 2026

The name does not belong to one specific breeding variety, but denotes a collection of local ecotypes distributed mainly in Southern Italy, particularly in the Basilicata region. These are heterogeneous forms that are not the result of a single breeding program.

The main characteristics of this group are the firm texture of the flesh and its white color. Due to their properties, the fruits are traditionally used not only for fresh consumption, but also for industrial or home processing, including the preparation of syrups, compotes, and purees.
