A group of traditional peach varieties originating from northern China. Historically, the trees were planted at the ends of vineyard rows, as they served as an indicator of vine health. The trees are medium-sized, reaching a height of 2.5 to 4–5 meters. The varieties are characterized by late flowering, which helps them avoid spring frosts.

The fruits are medium-sized, rounded, with dark pubescent skin. The flesh has an intense bright red color and a complex taste with notes of berries, plum, and red wine, which is less cloying than that of ordinary peaches. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and processing into jams and compotes.

Plants of this group are considered winter-hardy and resilient, capable of growing in regions with cold climates. Good resistance to leaf curl is noted. Since the name refers to a plant type rather than a specific variety, the characteristics of individual clones may vary depending on the ripening period.
