Siberian C represents a breeding line or seed material originating from regions with cold climates. The plant is characterized by high winter hardiness, adapting to USDA hardiness zones 3–4, and is often grown from seeds while maintaining species characteristics.
The tree reaches 3.6–4.5 meters in height. Grafting onto this rootstock contributes to delayed flowering, which helps protect the crop from recurring spring frosts. For scientific purposes, it is used for the diagnosis of the Plum pox virus.
The fruits of this plant are small, comparable to the size of an apricot, have a pronounced taste and aroma, but are inferior in quality and size to commercial dessert varieties.
