The «606» variety is a breeding form or selection of the «Red Beaut» variety, with which it shares complete genetic similarity. In scientific literature, it more often appears as a model genotype for comparative studies in the field of pomology.
The fruits of this variety are characterized by lower weight and caliber compared to a number of other varieties. Research also includes analysis of the biochemical composition, including the level of sugars, organic acids, and polyphenols.
The variety was studied for susceptibility to phytoplasmoses, where it showed a certain degree of vulnerability to diseases. In addition, it was used as a scion in experiments on the influence of rootstocks and agrotechnical practices, such as mulching, on product quality.
