The tree is vigorous and forms a strong crown; when using a wild pear rootstock, the height reaches 6 meters. The variety is characterized by resistance to low temperatures, but has moderate or insufficient resistance to fungal diseases and is susceptible to pest attacks.

The fruits are large, dry to the touch, with skin of medium thickness. The creamy-white flesh is very juicy, without granulations. The variety is self-infertile and needs pollinators, such as Luc-Vincent, Clapp's Favorite, or Conference. It prefers warm sunny places and fertile soils, is poorly compatible with quince as a rootstock, and requires the use of an interstock during grafting.
