The Cazzatello variety (also Cazzateddha) has historically developed in the province of Lecce, Italy. It is not a commercial variety and is traditionally grown in family gardens or on plots with sown crops.

The fruits are very small, weighing 20–30 g, and have a spheroidal, slightly asymmetrical shape. The fruit skin is thin and smooth, greenish-yellow in color, sometimes with the presence of russeting in the peduncle area.
