Pyrus communis L. European pear · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is late-ripening: fruits are harvested at the end of October, and the consumption period lasts from December to March-April. The tree is vigorous, with a spreading "weeping" crown, characterized by high winter hardiness and abundant flowering. The variety is a triploid and requires the presence of two pollinator varieties to produce a harvest. Fruiting is annual and abundant.

The fruits are large, broad-pear or bergamot-shaped, with greenish-yellow skin, sometimes having a dull reddish blush and russeting. In raw form, the fruits are hard and granular, so they are used exclusively for culinary purposes. When boiled or stewed for 1–2 hours, the flesh becomes tender and acquires a pink or red color.
