The tree of this variety forms a pyramidal crown and is characterized as medium-growing or vigorous. The variety is demanding of growing conditions, preferring warm and sheltered locations, as well as high-quality soil. Due to self-sterility, pollinators such as Clapp's Favorite, Williams, Conference, or Beurre Bosc are necessary to obtain a yield.

The fruits are large, conical or pyriform in shape, with yellow-green skin and an orange-red blush. The flesh is buttery, juicy, and possesses a pronounced aroma and a sweet, wine-like flavor. Harvesting takes place in the second half of October, and the fruits retain their consumer quality until January.

The variety shows relative resistance to scab and frost hardiness of the wood, however, the inflorescences are sensitive to spring frosts. Fruiting begins relatively late; yields are moderate but regular. The fruits are intended primarily for fresh consumption and are suitable for processing.
