The Pero del Greppo variety is classified as an in vivo biodiversity conservation object in a living collection. Detailed agronomic characteristics, including maturity group, tree habit, and disease resistance, are absent from publications.
The name Del Greppo is also a geographical marker and historical name of an estate in Montalcino, therefore a number of references in the literature refer to the analysis of local flora or winemaking production, rather than the varietal qualities of the pear.
