The variety is an indigenous type found in the Montefeltro area on the border of the Marche and Emilia-Romagna regions. It was named after the Catholic holiday "Festa del Perdono," as fruit ripening occurs at the end of July.
The tree is characterized as hardy and resistant to pests and diseases. The fruits have an elongated pyramidal shape and light green skin, sometimes with a pinkish blush. The fruit flesh is tender and juicy, with a sweet and aromatic flavor.
