10 August 2026
The variety is a summer type, with fruits ripening around July 20. The tree is characterized by a vigorous growth habit and can reach a height of over 12 meters. Instances of century-old mother trees of this variety are known.
The medium-sized fruits have delicate, juicy, and sweet flesh. The ground color of the skin is yellow-green with a red blush. The harvest is consumed fresh and is also used for making juices, smoothies, baked goods, jams, and serving with cheeses.
The variety is considered traditional for the Lazio region in Italy. Historically, trees of this variety grew in the gardens of the Palazzo Chigi-Albani, designed by the architect Vignola in the 16th century.
