The variety is autochthonous to the province of Lleida in Spain. The tree is considered an heirloom and is currently preserved mainly in collection orchards. The fruits have yellowish-green skin, white flesh, and are characterized by a crunchy, sweet texture and juiciness.

The variety is classified as a dessert pear, though it finds use in cooking. The fruits are prone to losing firmness during long-term storage, which requires adherence to special conditions, including the use of controlled atmosphere. In scientific research, the variety is actively used in the study of post-harvest processing technologies.
