Pyrus communis L. European pear · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The fruits are medium-sized, egg-shaped, which is why the variety is also known as the "spherical pear." The skin is smooth, yellowish in color, often with dots or russet spots. The flesh is yellowish-white, fine-textured, very juicy and melting, with a delicately sweet taste and a characteristic spicy aroma.

Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs at the end of September or beginning of October, and consumption maturity lasts until January. The tree forms a wide round or pyramidal crown with a height of 2.5 to 5 meters. The variety provides regular and high yields.

The flowers are sensitive to cold, so the tree requires warm, protected conditions and fertile, loose soil. The variety does not tolerate excessively moist soil well. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and for the production of fruit distillates.
