The tree of this variety has weak to moderate vigor and responds well to various types of training, including espaliers. The variety shows resistance to major diseases and pests, in particular to scab.

The medium-sized fruits have an obtuse conical or "pot-bellied" pear-like shape. During the period of consumer maturity, which occurs in November–December, the skin acquires a dull yellow color with a matte blush and characteristic roughness from russeting. The fruit flesh is fragrant, melting, with a wine-sweet taste.

The variety is a dessert type and is also actively used in breeding as a parental form for developing new varieties, such as Uta and Thimo.
