The variety Magdalene, also known as Madeleine, Grüne Magdalene or Citron des Carmes, is a historical summer pear variety. The fruits ripen in August, have a medium size and a conical or shortened pear-like shape. Their skin is colored greenish-yellow, sometimes with a slight blush, and the flesh has a juicy, sweet consistency.

Trees of this variety are characterized by rapid growth and productivity. Disadvantages include low winter hardiness, a short tree lifespan, and weak resistance to fire blight. The fruits have a short consumption period and are prone to rapid softening at the core, which limits their transportability and makes the variety preferable for home garden cultivation.
