ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is of Italian origin and historically grows in the mountainous regions of Sardinia at an altitude of 800–900 meters above sea level. The tree is of medium height with a spreading crown and is characterized by late flowering and medium productivity. The variety is rustic and capable of growing in conditions close to wild.
The fruit resembles an apple due to its flattened shape and has high keeping quality. Immediately after harvest, they are unsuitable for consumption due to the firmness and astringency of the flesh. To improve taste, the fruit is subjected to a special ripening process or preserved in water with salt or vinegar.
