Trees of the variety are vigorous and majestic, capable of reaching 5 meters in height when grown in standard form. They possess strong wood and a deep root system, adapting well to heavy and moist soils.

Fruits are of medium size, have a short conical or bell-like shape and a long stalk. The skin is green-yellow, sometimes with reddish-brown spots or stripes. Harvest maturity occurs in September.

The variety is classified as industrial, as the fruits are firm and granular when fresh. Upon heat treatment, the flesh acquires a red color and a sweet taste, which is why the pears are traditionally used for drying and cooking.
