The variety is a synonym for the well-known pear Packham’s Triumph, among other names for which are William tardiva and Trionfo di packham. The plant was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties Anjou and Williams.

The tree is characterized by mid-late flowering and weak compatibility with quince rootstock. The medium-sized fruits have a classic pear shape, a long curved stalk and green coloration, sometimes with a blush on the sunny side. The fruit flesh is white, juicy and firm.
