CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is a spontaneous anthocyanin mutation of the «Williams» variety and is used as a fruit and ornamental crop. The tree is weak to medium-growing, has a pyramidal crown, and enters fruiting in the 3rd–5th year. The variety is self-infertile and requires pollinator varieties.
Fruits weighing 150–220 g have a pear-shaped form and thin skin that turns dark burgundy or bright red upon ripening. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, melting, and has a sweet-and-sour taste with a muscat aroma. Harvest maturity occurs at the end of August or the first ten days of September.
The variety has medium winter hardiness and is relatively resistant to scab. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and all types of processing, while their transportability is assessed as satisfactory.
