The variety is of Australian origin and was obtained by crossing the varieties Bella Angevina and Williams' Bon Chrétien. The tree grows moderately vigorously, is characterized by mid-late flowering and early onset of fruiting.

During cultivation, poor compatibility with quince rootstock is noted, which requires the use of an interstock. The variety is sensitive to chlorosis, moderately resistant to scab and pear psylla, and is also characterized by high sensitivity to fire blight Erwinia amylovora.
