CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The name has historically been applied to a number of varieties, such as Stuttgarter Gaishirtle, which is characterized by medium vigor, high disease resistance, and small fruits with a spicy aroma, or the American variety Seckel. Local varieties are also found under this name: the French Zuckerbirne aus Montluçon with rounded greenish-yellow fruits ripening in October, the Dutch Holländische Zuckerbirne, the fruits of which ripen in August and have a short shelf life, and the Romanian variety Tzukerpere, whose fruits grow in clusters and are characterized by extreme sweetness.
Given that biological characteristics, ripening times, and disease resistance depend on the specific variety hidden under this name, it is recommended to clarify its full denomination.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
