The variety belongs to late-ripening crops, the vegetation period is from 13 to 15 weeks. Root crops have a round shape and reach the size of a fist. The skin is rough, black, the flesh is firm, white, with a pungent spicy taste due to the mustard oil content.
The plant is undemanding, resistant to major diseases, but is susceptible to damage by cruciferous flea beetle and cabbage root fly. The variety is distinguished by excellent keeping quality when stored in sand. When overmature, the root crops become woody.
It prefers sunny areas with loose, humus-rich soils and requires regular watering. In regions with a temperate climate, sowing in open field is carried out from late June to August to obtain a winter harvest, which is consumed mainly fresh.
