The variety belongs to the long-rooted or icicle radish group. The plant forms roots about 15–25 cm long with a milk-white, almost transparent color and a thin root tail. The total height of the plant is about 15 cm.
The variety is early-maturing, with the crop ready for harvest 4–5 weeks after sowing. The flesh of the root is tender and crisp, and the flavor is characterized as piquant and delicate. The plant develops best in light, well-drained soils with sufficient nutrient content.
Used fresh in salads, as an addition to sandwiches, or as a garnish. The variety is known by other names such as «Chandelle de Glace» and «Eiszapfen».
