The plant forms vigorous bushes with large dark gray-green wrinkled leaves, the edges of which have pronounced waviness. Stalk height varies from 60 to 100 cm, while flower stalks can significantly exceed these figures.

The stalks are distinguished by a characteristic blood-red color and pronounced ribbing on the back side with deep grooves inside. The taste of the plant is pronouncedly sour. The variety has high winter hardiness (zone 3) and high growth vigor.

The variety is suitable for growing in open field and for forcing in the dark to obtain more tender stalks. Despite the fact that for industrial production it is considered insufficiently uniform and short, it remains popular among amateur gardeners as a classic variety.
