The rhubarb variety Koral is officially registered in the Polish register of varieties (COBORU) and is under legal protection. The plant is grown for its edible petioles intended for direct consumption.

In comparative studies conducted from 1996 to 2001, the variety showed variations in yield depending on the year of cultivation compared to other rhubarb varieties. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are presented in a limited manner in open databases.
