The variety is a compact, dense, and low-growing wide-spreading shrub. Its foliage is small, glossy, dark green, and predominantly persists during the winter period. The plant is intended for decorative use in small gardens, rock gardens, and container planting.

Flowering of the variety occurs in the period from May to June; the flowers have a funnel shape. The shrub is considered winter-hardy in temperate climate conditions; however, in severe snowless winters, protection of the root system is recommended. Normal growth requires acidic, loose soil and the absence of moisture stagnation.
