The bush is vigorous, 1.5–2.5 m tall, semi-spreading, with light brown shoots. The large leaves are bright green in summer and acquire reddish or yellow shades in autumn. The yellow flowers have a pleasant fragrance; flowering begins in early April.

The berries are black with a metallic sheen, large or very large, with an average weight of 2–8 g, have succulent yellow flesh and a sweet and sour taste. The variety is of medium-early or medium-late maturity, with fruiting beginning from the 2nd–3rd year. The berries are suitable for fresh consumption and various types of processing.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness and drought tolerance and is resistant to most pests and fungal diseases of berry shrubs. The variety is self-sterile; cross-pollination with other Ribes aureum varieties is required for good fruiting.
