The variety is a medium-sized shrub with vigorous growth. It is characterized by good vegetative propagation ability via layering and low root sucker formation, which makes it convenient for forming plants as small trees on a standard of 80–100 cm in height.

The rootstock has good compatibility with scions of various currant and gooseberry varieties. The variety was selected in Hungary from the Ribes aureum «Brecht» population and has a highly specialized agricultural purpose.
