ActiveRibes nigrum L. · Blackcurrant

10 August 2026
The variety was obtained by crossing the 'Vakariai' variety and breeding line 70-88-9. The bush is tall and characterized by vigorous growth. The ripening period is medium; the harvest matures in the first ten days of July, and the berry picking period lasts about 13 days.
The berries have a mass of 1.1–1.9 g. The variety exhibits high self-pollination at the 77% level. The plant possesses winter hardiness, resistance to spring frosts, and low susceptibility to fungal diseases.
Due to the presence of the dominant gene P, inherited from the Siberian subspecies Ribes nigrum ssp. sibiricum, the variety possesses complete resistance to the blackcurrant gall mite.
