The bush of the variety is of medium or vigorous growth, broad, with a moderately dense structure and long lateral shoots. The fruits are of medium size and possess a tart aroma and taste. The variety is demanding of growing conditions and shows the best results on fertile, moisture-retentive soils.

The variety has medium susceptibility to powdery mildew and columnar rust, but is distinguished by low susceptibility to the blackcurrant gall mite. Historically, the variety was used in breeding and for mechanical harvesting; however, in a number of trials, it showed a yield lower than that of modern industrial varieties.
