The variety forms a vigorously growing bush 1–2 meters in height with an upright, spreading crown shape. Fruiting begins in early July.

The berries are large, black, possess a tart-sweet taste and a high vitamin C content. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.

The plant is distinguished by increased resistance to frosts. Data on immunity to fungal diseases are contradictory: a number of sources note both low susceptibility and sensitivity to powdery mildew and rust.

The variety was used in breeding as a parental form for developing other varieties and is intended primarily for home gardening.
