The variety is a vigorous, upright shrub reaching a height of 1.2–1.8 m. The shoots are yellowish-gray in color, turning brownish by the end of summer. The plant is characterized as hardy and capable of tolerating partial shade, yet it is sensitive to the reversion virus.
The fruits are large, weighing up to 3.5 g, and black in color. The taste of the berries is sweet with a moderate piquant-sour flavor; the skin is firm. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and various types of processing, including the production of juices, jams, and liqueurs. It was used in the breeding of jostaberry.
