The variety was bred in 1969 by crossing the varieties Consort, Kajaanin Musta-Tamas, and Altaskaya Dessertnaya. The bushes are vigorous, reaching a height of 1.4–1.5 m, and have strong, upward-directed shoots that form a dome-shaped crown. With age, the bush may take on a spreading shape.
The berries are black, round, large, weighing from 1.5 to 4 g. The pulp has a greenish tint, is firm, and has a sweet-and-sour taste with wine notes. The variety demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew, anthracnose, leaf spot, and white pine blister rust, and also tolerates dry periods and low temperatures well.
