The variety «Eleyna» was bred in Bulgaria using chemical and radiation mutagenesis methods. It is intended for industrial cultivation, characterized by flower yields from 4700 to 10 070 kg/ha, and is actively studied within the framework of biotechnological research, including in vitro micropropagation.
The plant is distinguished by high resistance to fungal diseases, such as rust and black spot, as well as increased winter hardiness. This variety is unrelated to the historical rose group «York and Lancaster», with which it is erroneously grouped in catalogs.
